It's like a concert tour but with sketchbooks.

While reading blogs today, I ran across one that had a blinkie for The Sketchbook Project sponsored by
The Art House Co-op .
For $25 you get a 4x6 size sketchbook, pick a theme, and register it.  We have the next few months to fill it up and return it to the Art House Co-op. they describe it like this:
Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the country.  After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be bar coded and available for the public to view. Anyone - from anywhere in the world - can be a part of the project. To participate and have us send you a sketchbook that will go on tour, start by choosing a theme to the right.
Well, my daughter being a budding artist, thought it sounded cool so we have signed her up.
The tour will be in Austin, Texas on March 12, 2011...I hope that's spring break! I have not been to Austin yet.  And SXSW will be rocking so we will have to go see a show too!
