NSD/Mother's Day Weekend...

This was a full weekend of activity around here.  Sadly I did not get to do any of the crafting this weekend but I can't complain, we had an exciting time with all of the festivities.

We had some fabulous ladies crop at the Little Blue House on Friday.  The 12 hours of crafting paid off for several of them.  One crafter used every bit of her Front Porch Kit for layouts, a mini book and a couple of gifts for her family.  Another finished embellishing pages from the Page Builders classes she has attended this year. Her grand babies were the finishing touch on the beautiful pages she created.  We had one group who because they had not been able to gather together for a couple of months, they spent the first 2 hours catching up and laughing together.

Saturday we held the CraftMasters Mini-Workshop.  Four classes of techniques in various forms.  The first one was Distress It Yourself (aka DIY).  Miss Susan showed the class about 8 different ways to add color to different surfaces and then displayed them in an embroidery hoop frame.
Very cute and handy.

Next was Texture Time, a class that taught a variety of techniques to give your titles some impact using things like tape, batting, corrugate, fabric and so much more.

Then Miss Tracy showed the crowd how we use paper to make some fabulous borders for our scrapbook pages or craft projects.

Six different techniques to add interest and dimension to your pages and VIOLA! A beautiful page to showcase your pictures.

And the big finale was Glitterocity, a class where our dear Miss Elaine took us step by step through the glittering techniques and gave us a little glitter history too.

everyone had a fun time learning or re-learning the different techniques and styles.

Not only that but we had so many vendor sponsored prizes to give away, I think we called a name from the drawing about every 15 minutes.  Plus a cookout with hot dogs, hamburgers and root beer floats.  MMMMM! Delicious!
If that wasn't enough there was also an evening crop.  The new group of croppers started rolling in around 6pm.  It was a full evening of cropping, shopping and creating.  With a few more ice cream floats too. Yummy!
Now, the weekend doesn't end there either.  Miss Tracy posted a question on Facebook asking why you like to scrapbook.  We had FB follwers on the Little Blue House Facebook page leave a comment.  One lucky commenter will win a set of Tim Holtz stamps.
AND... If you came in to visit us at the LBH there is one more drawing for those who stopped by.  Check the LBH blog today to see if you are the winner of the red BoBuny bag. Did you know that there is a $75 gift certificate in it too???

I hope every Mom out there had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
I sure did!.
This is me with my Mom and my sister, Karen. She's a mom too. This pictures was taken on one of those rare occasions that we could spend the day together and have a little impromptu photo shoot last year.  I think my daughter was handling the camera because usually it's Karen taking the pictures. Which, by the way, if you need a good wedding photographer and your in the DFW area, Karen does beautiful work.

Look at that, two of my three around for a picture with me.  Not wanting to have pictures taken but appeasing their mom because they know better.  This was a fun day despite the look on the boys face.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Let me know what you did for Mother's Day.  Did you get to spend it with your Mom or were you the Mom that was treated to something special? I'd like to hear.

Have a crafty week!

Rhonda
